MARCO ZANETTI WINS IN SHARM EL SHEIKH
The 2024 World Cup circuit closes in Sharm El Sheikh with a victory of the Italian Maestro. The tension has risen high in the last shots of the final, when Eddy Merckx (Belgium) run 15 to catch Zanetti close to the finish line (46-46). With iron nerves Zanetti replied with 4 and closed the match. Zanetti is also the author of the best run (19) of the tournament.
For Zanetti (62) this is the fifth World Cup victory in his long career, the last one it was also in Sharm in 2019. Bronze medals for Torbjorn Blomdahl (Sweden) and Hong Chiem Thai (Vietnam).
The results in Sharm also decided the final ranking of the 2024 World Cup Season: the winner is Dick Jaspers (Netherlands), second place for Q.C.Tran (Vietnam) and third place for Tayfun Tasdemir (Turkiye).
The CEB is proud to congratulate all of its athletes!
